ROLE will have several meetings at the European Conference on Technology Enhanced Learning 2009 next week in Nice.

This is our schedule for Wednesday, 30th September 2009:

The meetings take place at Novotel Nice.

On 7th September 2009 at 10h, we will come together for a developer meeting at RWTH Aachen.

The ROLE-partners will present which services and tools they are going to develop and discuss a common development strategy. We are looking forward to an interesting and fruitful meeting in Aachen.

On 19th of August during the ICWL conference ROLE members meet in Aachen for a productive work session after lunch.

This years JTEL Summer School was held in Terchova, Slovakia between the 31st if May to 6th of June 2009 and hosted exactely 100 PhD students and tutors. During one week the students were able to get insights into different topics of TEL, with the specific focus on ‘The Emancipated Learner’. The project ROLE supported the summer school due to the fact that this event is highly successful for the networking as well as the fostering of young researchers in the area of TEL.

The mixed programme covered an overview of pedagogical as well as technolgoical aspects during morning lecutures and workshops in the afternoon. Most important for the summer school was to foster the collaboration and networking between the students as well as tutors. This networking has been fostered during excursions and organized trips, (volunteered) late night sessions and cluster activities as well as leisure activities in the hotel.

The event, which has been organized the 5th time this year, was supported by 18 different projects and companies. ROLE supported the summer school by integration into the programme commitee, the organization as well as presentation of ROLE topics and issues. From the 2 - 3 March 2009, ROLE successfully held its kick-off meeting in Lausanne, Switzerland, kindly hosted by EPFL. In addition to the general overview which outlined the connection between the workpackages and the management issues, various work package meetings took place, enabling the envolved partners to clearly define their roles and first actions  for each task.
